At the height of the #blacklivesmatter protests, Cara checked in with long time university friend Kevin Weeden.
Kevin runs a family-owned business in Marietta, Georgia and speaks candidly about what it is like to be a person of colour in the US, in 2020. They also delved into their shared history in a US church/cult and reflected on the impact that had had on their lives and how much life has changed since.
Please note, this episode had some sound issues which we’ve attempted to edit and resolve because we really wanted to bring this conversation to you.
It was recorded in the immediate aftermath of George Floyd and Breanna Taylor. Watch to find out what’s important now for Kevin. About Kevin Kevin is the Senior Vice President at Ken Weeden & Associates Inc.
About the What’s Important Now Show
The world hitting “pause” has given us a unique opportunity to reflect on how we live, work and relate to each other. In “What’s Important Now?” host Cara McCullough asks you to share what mattered before the pause, what matters now and what you’d like your new future to look like once we hit “play” again. New episodes out weekly, on Tuesdays at 9 am (AEST) on the #wityayl Facebook page.
